Diet for women to get pregnant with a girl or a boy

Since the dawn of time, couples have dreamed of being able to choose the sex of their child. After grandmothers’ remedies with random results, science has become involved: eating certain types of food would increase the chances of having a girl or a boy. Focus on the girl/boy diet.
-Choosing your child’s sex: Dr. Dad’s diet
Several studies have shown that certain dietary habits – and more specifically certain mineral intake – can modify vaginal secretions and thus influence the path of spermatozoa. By following an adequate diet, a woman could therefore act on the progression of spermatozoa, carriers of the X chromosome (which gives a girl) or the Y chromosome (which gives a boy). This method was discovered by Prof. Stolkowski and made famous by Dr. François Papa, gynecologist. According to various studies, this technique is almost 80% safe, but opinions are still very divided on the question.
To have a daughter, you would need a diet rich in calcium and magnesium, but low in sodium and potassium. To give birth to a boy, it would be the opposite. The only condition: start this diet at least two and a half months before conceiving your baby and apply it every day to the letter. It is useless to continue it once pregnant, since the sex of the baby is in any case definitively determined from the moment of conception.
-The ideal diet for having a daughter
In theory, any woman who wants to conceive a baby girl should adopt a diet rich in calcium and magnesium, but low in sodium and potassium. Opt for dairy products (except cheese): milk, but also yoghurt, ice cream, cottage cheese, petits-suisses, etc. It is also recommended to eat white meat, fresh fish and eggs. In the fruit and vegetables section, choose green salads, green beans, spinach, pineapple, apples, mandarins, watermelons, pears, strawberries and raspberries, but also dried fruits such as hazelnuts, nuts, almonds and unsalted peanuts. Avoid bread and rusks (which contain salt), as well as deli meats, fish and salted, smoked or frozen meats. Forget pulses (dried white beans, lentils, dried peas, split peas), soybeans, canned corn, and all salty cheeses. On the beverage side, drink mineral water rich in calcium and/or magnesium. On the other hand, do not drink carbonated water, tea, coffee, chocolate, beer and even less cider.
-What should I eat to have a boy?
Objective: give preference to foods rich in potassium and sodium, while reducing calcium and magnesium intakes. You should therefore adopt a diet low in dairy products and high in salt. Eat without moderation: all meats, cold cuts, salted fish (cod), smoked fish (herring, haddock), canned fish (sardines, tuna, mackerel in white wine), cereals such as rice, pasta, semolina, white bread, ordinary rusks, salted aperitif cookies, but also pastries. In the fruits and vegetables section, prefer dried vegetables (beans, dried beans, split peas, lentils, corn) and all other vegetables, whether fresh, canned or frozen, except green leafy vegetables (spinach, watercress, dandelion) and oleaginous dried fruits (hazelnuts, almonds, peanuts…). Do not include milk and all dairy products, i.e. cheeses, yoghurts, petits-suisses, cottage cheeses, but also butter, desserts or milk-based preparations (ice cream, custards, Béchamel sauce), shellfish, eggs as a main course (omelets, hard-boiled, fried, poached, boiled eggs) and finally chocolate and cocoa. On the beverage side, drink fruit juices, tea, coffee. Please note: if the boy’s diet seems less difficult to follow, it is also much richer! It will therefore also be necessary to watch the balance.
-Precautions to be taken with the girl or boy’s diet
Always consult your doctor before starting this type of diet. Only he or she can give you his or her approval, as there are many contraindications: high blood pressure, kidney failure, diabetes, nephritis, hypercalciuria, heart problems. In addition, he or she will also give you some advice on how to prevent a deficiency that would be harmful to you and your baby. Indeed, it is especially important not to decrease or increase mineral intakes inconsiderably: you should never go below the recommended daily intake. In addition, do not get carried away, this method is not 100% safe. You may be too disappointed if your baby isn’t the sex you want.
